Guaricha is a term of the Cumanagoto Caribbean ethnic group, used in Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela. Guaricha means woman, and over time this term has become the colloquial language to define prostitute and indomitable women. In this series, the female body is exposed as an exhausted medium that carries the precariousness of being a woman. I draw high heels, pantyhose, and amorphous bodies, to represent and hold the various layers of meanings about the feminine's vulnerability, sensuality, and power.
